Caring for Your Decorated Glassware

Our decoration processes are built for durability. How your glassware is washed, handled, and stored can extend its life and visual appeal even further. Here are a few simple tips to help you get the most out of your investment.

Do: Care for Your Decorated Glassware the Right Way

Your decorated glassware is more than just a vessel — it’s a reflection of your brand.

Here’s How to Keep It Looking Its Best:

Hand-Wash When Possible
Especially for metallics, specialty sprays, and premium finishes. Gentle washing helps preserve the integrity and brilliance of your decoration.

Use Recommended Detergents
The right cleaning agents make all the difference. These options are proven to be safe for decorated glassware and help minimize wear over time.

For Commercial Dishwashers: Ecolab Solid Power XL
For Residential Dishwashers: Cascade (non-phosphorus formula preferred)

Rack Glassware with Care
Avoid abrasion and print-on-print contact by spacing items properly. This simple step helps prevent fading and scratching.

Use Soft Brushes or Cloths
When cleaning around decorated areas, opt for soft materials to avoid damaging the artwork.

Don’t: Risk Damaging Your Artwork

Even the most durable decoration can be compromised by improper care.

Here’s What To Avoid:

No Harsh Scouring Pads or Wire Brushes
These tools can scratch or strip the decoration, especially on specialty finishes.

Avoid Citrus-Based or Highly Alkaline Detergents
Unless specifically validated for decorated glassware, these formulas can degrade the print over time.

Don’t Nest or Stack Printed Glasses Without Protection
Always use dividers or protective layers to prevent print damage during storage or transport. However, some glass styles are specifically designed to be stackable without compromising the decoration.

Limit Exposure to Standing Water
Prolonged soaking can weaken or lift decoration, especially around edges or intricate designs.

Answers to Common Customer Questions

Can you print a full wrap design on glassware?

Yes! We offer full wrap capabilities for select glass styles, allowing your artwork to extend around the entire surface for maximum visual impact. Full wrap designs are available through both digital printing and ceramic enamel ink decoration processes, depending on the glass style and desired finish.

What is inline vs. offline laser nucleation?

Laser nucleation creates etched points at the bottom of a glass to maintain a steady stream of bubbles and enhance aroma. Inline nucleation is applied during glass production for efficiency and consistency, while offline nucleation is added after manufacturing for greater flexibility in custom designs. Both deliver the same functional benefit—better carbonation and a more engaging drinking experience.
